Thread Trace

Follow one visual thread through distractions and test how well you can stay locked on.

Several threads cross the board. One flashes briefly — follow it with your eyes and tap where it ends.

How Thread Trace works

Each round starts with several curved threads stretching from left to right. One thread is highlighted for a brief moment. When the highlight disappears, all threads become the same color and thickness.

Your task is to mentally track the highlighted thread through the crossings and tap the numbered endpoint on the right side where you believe it ends. Correct answers add points and increase the difficulty.

What this game challenges

Thread Trace exercises visual tracking — the ability to follow one moving target while ignoring similar distractors. This kind of selective attention is used whenever you need to focus on one thing in a busy visual scene.

Unlike a maze, you are not navigating. You are holding a visual object in your attention while crossings try to redirect your focus. The difficulty lies in maintaining that lock without losing the thread.

How to improve your tracking

During the preview, mentally trace the highlighted thread from start to end. Then pick a landmark — a bend or crossing — that you will use as a reference when the threads go neutral.

FAQ

How does Thread Trace work?

Several curved threads cross the board. One thread flashes briefly to show which one is yours. Then all threads look the same, and you must tap the numbered endpoint where your thread ends.

Why do threads all look the same after the preview?

That is the challenge. The brief highlight asks you to visually lock onto one path before it blends in. Tracking a specific object through visual noise is a core focus skill.

Does difficulty increase?

Yes. Correct answers add more threads to the board and shorten the preview time. Wrong answers reduce the difficulty slightly so you can recover.

How many rounds are there?

Each game is 10 rounds. Your score depends on correct answers and the difficulty level of each round.
